Smiling For No Reason Poem by Akeem Mair

Smiling For No Reason

My moms caught me smiling
in the house for no reason
Watching me from a far
didn't notice she was thinking
Wondering who's this mysterious woman
who got me smiling
I had this huge smile like life
ain't gonna keep me drowning
Had a lot of broken hearts before
but I'm still surviving
My Exes tried to break me
But this time I'm really flying
Over cloud nine I'm not coming down
for many hours
Everybody else was hating but my smile
had too much power
I didn't care who was watching me
and who was talking
Cause when my smile is on
my heart just keeps on knocking
Thinking about the good times I had
with a special woman
She gave me a smile
that came from a superhuman
all I'm doing right now is smiling
didn't hurt nobody
So why they angry with me for smiling,
I'm never sorry
I'm not apologizing for the way I feel
I'm feelin jolly,
Like nothing in this world
could bring me down to nothing
I'm on top of the world
like only heaven is above me
She gave me this smile
And that's why I got this feelin
I'm gonna keep on smiling
People ask why and I say
Its for no reason
