Smile Poem by Alison Mary Dunn

Smile

There you stand as you always stood
Smiling at me through image and glass
I curl up inside my thoughts of you
To cradle & rock a much happier past

Dear angel in this picture frame
Love overflowed your mortal shell
With gentle waves of love & kindness
A peaceful place for us to dwell

This ring upon my finger proud
It shines alone where no others stand
A perfect symbol of your love
To guide me as you take my hand

Within me your soul will remain
A gift I’ll treasure evermore
And every time I see your smile
I know I see through heaven’s door.

(Dedicated to my late father Joe) .
