Smell Of Sand Poem by Dr Shamim Ali

Smell Of Sand

The smell of sand, so earthy and warm,
Brings back memories of summers long gone,
When I ran through dunes and played on the shore,
And felt the grains between my toes galore.

The scent of sand is like no other,
A fragrance of nature, pure and pure,
It lingers in the air and on my skin,
Inviting me to explore and begin.

I love the way it clings to my hair,
And the way it feels on my skin so bare,
It's gritty and rough, yet soft as silk,
A paradox that's always a thrill.

The smell of sand is a comforting friend,
It reminds me of places I've been,
Of deserts and beaches and all in between,
Of journeys and stories yet to be seen.

So let me breathe in this scent so sweet,
As I wander through this sandy retreat,
For there's no other fragrance quite so grand,
As the intoxicating smell of sand
