Smarter Today Poem by Ray Hansell

Smarter Today

Rating: 5.0

I use to be the kind of person
Who'd always take a chance
But lately it seems
I'd rather sit down than dance

I use to be so willing
To always try something new
But most times it seems
Certain things I won't do

Like for instance flying
I'd rather drive my car
But I know it makes more sense
To fly when you travel far

Maybe it's just getting old
Because we get a little smarter
We know the things we did in our youth
Now are so much harder

So, common sense rules more now
Then it did back in the day
Because the risks I use to take
Are no longer the order of the day
