Slow Tears Poem by April Janvier

Slow Tears

Rating: 2.8

I look up
as a tear rolls slowly
down my cheek
I think about better days
and wonder if I'll feel that way again
you look at me
with those eyes I know so well
always serious, so deep and insightful
as though you're always in control
But not today
not now
Now you look so scared
like for once you don't have the answer
I gaze at you
looking deep into those hazel eyes
Hoping to understand
why you've said those things you did
I wonder for a moment
if this is all a dream
if I shall wake in the morning
and be relieved
you look at me
with a confusion I have never seen
slowly pull me towards you
and wipe the tears from my cheek

I love it.: O And for all who read this, lay off my use of emoticons. It had inspiration, it had talent. And you, are the pinnacle of that talent. I admire you. Even if your poetry isn't that long, it's beautiful and unsettling. And I mean that in a good way. And trust me, I don't usually like short poetry. That's why I write long. Thank God for your talent. For He is the reason we have it. :)

It invokes the feeling every guy feels when he is unable to help the one he loves yet he is still there for her. No matter what he will be there yet he wishes at that moment he could help her. It was quite an enjoyable read. You have talent. Keep writing
