Slide Show Poem by Mike Gould

Slide Show

When we die, and go to Heaven or Hell,
There's always the curiosity to look at what you've done.
You could probably even see yourself taking your first step as a child.
Speaking your first word.
Saying, 'Ma Ma' or, 'Da Da' for the first time.
And then it goes by chunks.
You see yourself graduating Elementary School.
Middle School.
High School, while wearing the triumphed hat and gown.
Then again, no one's life is perfect.
There's always the mistakes made in life.
Wishing you could go back and change what you've done.
But as much as you wish,
What's done is done and there's no changing it.
It's like a slide show, except you can't fix or redo the show.
It's a one time opportunity that was arranged by you.
You made a new friend.
You threatened another person.
You saved someone's life.
You killed the life of another.
You see all these things in Heaven or Hell.
Now it's your decision.
Whether you want to laugh about your mistakes, or learn from them.
To praise yourself, or punish yourself.
It's your one and only slide show, so make it count.
