Sleeping Badly Poem by Lauren Michaels

Sleeping Badly

Rating: 4.8

I burst out of the stillness of sleep.
Pollute the night with a cacophony of sound.
My hard heartbeat roaring
My heavy chest heaving.
My sorry hands Sweating.
And when relief again quiets me.
And darkness then cushions me.
And slumber slips heavy about my eyes.
I tell myself nothing has changed.

How do you do that? Stunning piece of poetry, honestly. Your endings back an explosion....I adore them! Always, Amberlee
