Self-Reliance Poem by Lauren Michaels

Self-Reliance

Listening to Elliot Smith On Repeat
With some written cheap significance.
The Secret History or such like.
In the Cool Blue of every summer evening.
For hours.
Is the most comfortable memory.
Curled up in my mind.

And a scent of lilac
From the window.

first introduced to Elliot by an old bf - & i've never looked back. follow it up with Lilac Wine by Buckley. also - The Elected mimics his sound a tad & Earlimart's lead Aaron spent alotta time hosting Elliot's recording sessions- after his death began recording his own tunes. theyre not bad. but Elliot is second to none. so, i feel ya, & like the crispness of this.
