Sleep Poem by Chris Lee

Sleep

I should be asleep, dawn will be here soon,
Hello to the sun, goodbye to the moon,
Why can't i drift off, in a field of dreams,
Pass out in seconds, so effortless it seems,
To not wake up, to a creak of the floor,
Be it a screaming fox, or a wind flapping door,
Oh how i long for a night of such bliss,
A day of all days, or a never-ending kiss,
It gets taken for granted, being able to sleep,
All those old books, and forever counting sheep,
Some never know, how lucky they are,
But to lay next to you, is a gift from afar.
