Sleep Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Sleep

Rating: 5.0

Absently I wander in my mind
Through the blackness of thought
Bringing dark memories to life
Some happy others sad
Life that had gone in a blink
Expectations of that to come
This crystal eye of my inner thoughts
Searching out, weeding, cleaning
Grasping new additions
Filing away
Compartments for everything
Life should be that simple
Too soon the quagmire deepens
Sleep invades stopping the rot
Closing compartments one by one
Rest the healer
Eyes glaze
Sleep
