Six Haiku Poem by Norm Rourke

Six Haiku

A gentle breeze blows
To kiss the velvet petals
Of a newborn rose.

Summer drifts away,
As a coolness fills the air,
Fall awaits its day.

Rain freshens the earth,
Everything drinks its bounty
And there is rebirth.

Summer nights are clear
As breezes return to sleep
And darkness comes near.

Stretching after sleep,
A cat awakens to life
And mischief to seek.

A summer rain cools,
While birds bathe happily
In refreshing pools
