Sitting Empty Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sitting Empty

Positive results,
To achieve them believed.
Takes time to develop.
Than negativity rushes to hear.
From ear to ear with it heard.
By those impatient.
Releasing it to be received.

People awaiting for immediate results,
Will huff and puff disgusting comments made.
To say nothing gets accomplished.
Nothing done seen to validate,
Done to come their way.
While on cellphones peeking through windows.
Discussing with neighbors,
About their neighbors, relatives and friends.
Who all agree.
Results to see them witnessed to achieve,
Are nowhere around them.
Neither on their streets to believe.
Yet...
Complain to give time to do it,
About what goes on inside their homes.
No one has time to get done.
Because others living with them,
Lovers, roommates, spouses and children...
Seek to find excuses to make.
Rather than taking a mop and broom,
To clean the floors in filthy rooms.
Or unable to pick up bags of trash,
Making a path to where garbage cans await.
Sitting empty in their own backyards.
Although these results,
Can be immediately achieved.
Positively.
It's the negativity most seem to enjoy.
Since this relieves them,
Of being actively involved.
Or thought should be held accountable,
For consciously being irresponsible.
It's always for them,
Someone else to look for to accuse.
Find to fault and blame.
