Haunting shadows engulf my mind,
cloud the visions in my mind
Of what life used to be
before that fateful day
When our dear Lord
carried you away from me
to sit at his side
in his mighty Kingdom of Heaven

We used to laugh and sing
The melodies still linger
It's soft and haunting sounds
Coming back all around
Our hearts ablaze with fire
Burning and burning
Till one day, it was gone

I still smell your sweet scent
and hear you laughter carried on the breeze
The heat of our love still warms my heart
As a river of tears flow from my eyes
But I look to the heavens
and know you are safe now
Sitting at the Lord's side
in His mighty Kingdom of Heaven
