Sisters Of Misfortune (Get Myself Free) Poem by Peter Strugnell

Sisters Of Misfortune (Get Myself Free)

A beguiling twist of truth and lies,

and who can resiste what one desires,

I loved you madly I loved you then,

........................................Never again!

Tied naked to a wrought iron bed,
you spun your lies and spider web,
so rise up my sister of misfortune
.............................shoot the moon!

Shout it loud, shout it clear,

no more shame, no more fear,

not another minute, not another year.

today's the day, I get myself free!

It's getting dark, it's a dark dark game,
never in question, never to blame,
you fool them all, you fool them still,
....................................I could never kill.

Refrain

The put-me-downs hit new lows,
rebellion stirs in the heart of the rose,
It won't be easy it won't be pretty,
...........................................isn't it a pity

Refrain
