Sinking Into Sorrow Poem by angela rose

Sinking Into Sorrow

Drowning in your own sorrow.
The burning in your lungs
as you gasp for air.
Trying to reach to the top
only to be pushed back down.
You try to scream
but only to be hushed
by your own self.
Your lungs feel as if they are on fire.
Darkness surrounds you
Crushing your limbs.
You use your last breath to say
'Im sorry'.
You close your eyes and sink.
Sink into deep, dark depths
of your own sadness.
