Simply Lovely Poem by Brenda Lee Renwick

Simply Lovely

How to craft a poem
Out of something commonplace?
You clothe it in simplicity
And cover it with grace.

A sparrow’s nest in progress –
Bits if sticks and brittle grass,
The flowers in my neighbor’s yard,
Crepe myrtle blooms en masse.

A haven in my humble home
From heat and cold and rain;
The beauty in such wholesome things
No poet need explain.
