Silent Song Poem by Don Pearson

Silent Song

I know from your stance, from the look on your face,
That I must atone for my sins.
The sins of silence.

I feel I have tried, done all that I can
To break free from pain in the past.
The cost is silence.

The fires that I hide, the darkness within
And feelings that I cannot trust
Result in silence

I have written some words for you to read
When I’ve left to travel new roads.
The rest is silence.
