Silent Defeat Poem by Stephen Dantes

Silent Defeat

Rating: 5.0

A boastful speech of politicians proud
Do good sense and motive seek
For want and need be ostracized
To silence fears and shout maim

To tame the dreadful corruption roar
Unearth, expose pulp verbal score
But dance with death, a means crucify
To silence cares and shout maim

Still respire to retire, tell, dictate
Spank drugs, caress violence, smile await
Vocal bondage verbally censor and spy on fate
To silence tears and shout maim

A truth proposed with lie, deceit
Rude boy reality exposed still cry with feet
A foe befriends, murder defeat
To silent me and shout, erased
