Silence Smiles Poem by Zachary Gerbils

Silence Smiles

Rating: 5.0

16 strings,6 poised wind, an
Audience and a silence
The stage well set, musicians prepped
With a mix of reverence and shyness

Then arms were drawn, instruments raised
The concentration turns to tension
As brows were wiped for one
Last time the anticipation about to lessen

A string plucked from the corner
Gently stirs the frightened still
Though quickly joined by fellow
Strings to comfort and to heal

The playful soft advances soon
Set the golden atmosphere alight
As the matrimony of sound and silence
Becomes the romance of the night

Unleashed is a relationship
Of a couple trained to entertain
As one laughs, one cries, one gives
one lies; from a whisper in to flame

With loves’ charred face now glowing
The audio tango turns to waltz
Both touching, feeling softly
To find the right time to break and pause

Would the liaison be a taste for
The sweet about to follow
Or was this fiery passionate encounter
A fun time and purely hollow
