Silence Poem by Joyce Rwambali

Silence

A lonely dark night, no barking is heard.
A clear sky and no humming of birds,
Not even a single dropp of water or lead,
Not even chopped beef in the butcher.

No crying of birds,
No snoring of Oh MacDonald,
Only silence that swarms in the city.
Silence never to be broken

Silence, silence and nothing more.
It ran through the earths inner core,
Nothing ever faced by humanity;
it was deep sanity
A bond of 'silence'.

A lonely night ever so quite,
A clear sky full of silence,
Not even laughter heard.
Not even the sound of nature.
Only silence.
