Silence Poem by Douglas McClarty

Silence

How can I describe this silence
Sitting on an Iberian hill at midnight
Not one single sound, just nothing
light from a bright winter moon
and from some sparkling stars

This is food for the human soul
I just sit and stare, my mind numb
My thoughts have been erased
I am totally at one with something
That I cannot think to understand.
