Silence Poem by Morgan Tayce

Silence

Even when things seem okay on the outside, deep down something is really wrong. She gets this feeling like she doesn't belong, and that theres something she doesnt know. Like people are secretly looking down on her. The've never had a silent phone call but tonight they did. Shes scared other people are going to ruin the one thing she fights for daily but he doesnt see. She holds her head up high for him, she keeps going everyday, just for him, because she really has no other reason to. When things are silent, she waits for him to break the silence, but it has yet to come. Things arent like this, and something is wrong. She doesnt dare ask, shes scared. Scared of loosing the only thing she has left, he says he doesnt care what they say but when he sits on the other line, silent, without a word for the first time..... she begins to wonder. Because they both cheated on the ones they were with does he worry she will do it again? Twenty mins pass and still not a word, she hears the sound of her fan, and continues to wait, in hopes she doesnt always have to be the one to make the first move. More time passes, and still....theres silence.
