Silence Poem by Hillary Unknown

Silence

The sound explodes in my ears
There's no yelling, there's no tears
Just the emptiness
And the eery stillness

Chorus:
I wait for the song to play
I wait for you to say
How much I mean to you
But I know it won't be true

I wait in the quiet
And watch the sun turn violet
I know what waits for me
In the coming darkness that I see

Chorus:
I wait for the song to play
I wait for you to say
How much I mean to you
But I know it won't be true

So I wait in the dark
As I feel it making its mark
It's like a tattoo
And all it says is 'you'

Chorus:
I wait for the song to play
I wait for you to say
How much I mean to you
But I know it won't be true

I'm scarred now forever
I know that I will be free never
I sit and cry
As I realize it's all been a lie

Alt. Chorus
I waited for the song to play
I waited for words that you'd never say
I knew the truth all along
I just had to wait for the dawn
