Signs Of Trouble Poem by L.C. Bolds

Signs Of Trouble

I can't stand the way you are
You say you love me
So tell me why then do your words
Cut like swords
I build you up
And you cut me down

I defend your honor
You diminish mine
I thought you were my knight in shining armour
Turns out you were my trouble wrapped in black
Deadly as sin
You have truly done me in.

Sunshine
That is what you called me
Thrilled me
Reeled me
Now I feel as though you have killed me
My inner me you have destroyed
As long as I am with you
I will never know true joy.
