Shoot The Dust Poem by Chloe Lubinska

Shoot The Dust

I'm not sure quite how to say I'm sorry
And I know that's what quite hurts the most
I've not known you long, if short over a year
Can't quite pinpoint what your heart denotes
But if there is one thing my soul expresses
Is the feeling of not letting you go?
In the chaos of life and emotional stresses
Synchronisation of speech can't flow
I know you feel like your ship as turned upside down
And the world you live has captured a frown
But I tell you this, please don't forget
I'm with you there in that dark lonely place
Despite my moans, fleeting anger and aloof face
Perspectives are young; time is yet to unravel
Anger, hurt and pain will fade on the road they travel
I'm with you there in the place it hurts the most
Hurts me too, but I'll welcome the ghost
That haunts you from happy dreams and apt goals
That is trapped in the season of the winter cold
As I said before, I'm not sure how to say I'm sorry
Or why I'm saying sorry
Maybe I just want you to know; I know how painful it is
And I'm sorry for that, I'm sorry I didn't realise sooner
But it will be alright because I'm with you in this
We will move that winter cold into summer bliss
We will wait until that ship will turn around upright
We will make that ghost become a shadow of what it once was.
I love you darling, I really, really do
My heart is with you there
And my soul is too
