Dysmorphia Poem by Chloe Lubinska

Dysmorphia

I wish I'd known what your side spoke
Read the language your lies wrote
I wish I could have touched there first
In my heart where you provoked
I wish to cut these bundled ties
Of empty dreams from tears you cried

I wish I could have known back then
To wipe the droplets clear and dry
I wish for a changed intention
Yearning, pleading for perfection
I wish for warm arms and embrace
Instead I'm faced with your reflection

I wish I could have known back then
Your vacant words threaten fight
I wish I'd flown and fled the ground
Before your voice came to steal the light
I wish you could have given me chance
To find my feet and learn to dance

I wish I'd known what your side spoke
Read the language your lies wrote
I wish I'd never met you then
In my soul, dark evokes
A series of fierce despise and thinning rope
If I pull I'll tighten the plot
I wish I'd never opened your broken lock
