Sheffield Pride Poem by Richard Sockett

Sheffield Pride

Steel City South of Yorkshire
Hillsborough heroes in blue and white set our hearts on fire
Endcliffe park was the place I loved when I was just a child
Fun summer days with friends carefree and running wild
Fox House pub in Derbyshire is a welcome watering hole
Ideal rest stop when walking in Burbage and Stanage pole
Ecclesall Road is so cosmopolitan and trendy
Lovers of nostalgia remember buses that were bendy
Debonair students celebrate their university graduation

Prom nights lead to romance and infatuation
Roxy nightclub was a favourite haunt for teens who loved to dance
Ice cream varieties at Meadowhall leave you in a trance
Don Valley Bowl and Motorpoint play host to many stars
Entertaining nights usually end up in the citys many bars
