She Sounds Perfect Poem by Carla Kitts

She Sounds Perfect

she sounds perfect when you describe her like you do
I know part of you loves me but part of you loves her too
I know you care
but, unlike her, I am not there
I can't look into your eyes and the days still go by
time is just slow it doesn't fly
I want you here with me
but I know that it simply cannot be
you know I love you
that much is true
and I know what you've said to me
but black words on a screen is all I see
how can I compete with perfection? I know I would certainly loose you
I can't win this battle that hasn't even begun
are we over? are we done? has that perfect creature already won
will she love you better then me?
I bet she will, guess we'll have to wait and see
giving up and giving in
letting God's work begin
taking a step back, take a break
see what this path will take
