She Resides In Beauty Poem by Chris Wiggins

She Resides In Beauty

Rating: 5.0

She resides in beauty, so delicate,
So perfect nature dare not conspire.
God himself an admirer of his work,
Heavens soft clouds desire.
Her summer dress entangled in the breeze,
A sweet smelling roses from her hair.
Her lips, of which I wish to kiss,
My love lays wantent bare.
The river runs upon her thighs,
Thwart with danger at her deepest,
But ever worth the reward to touch,
I find myself at my weakest.
In her eyes I see myself, falling.
Into temptation i stop at her gates,
She waves, then gestures me to enter,
The pathway leads towards two straits,
One, to the safety of my own home,
The other, to a paradise unknown.
Whichever way does hath consequence,
To live a life that be filled with monotony,
Or see and breathe fresh land and treasure,
The least of which will make me rich from pleasure,
At most, i drink from the cup of youth
And live the rest of my days drunk in love,
Seduced by her every word she whispers.
To sleep with her under a naked sky,
To caress her bones and corrupt her heart.
My thoughts lay upon her breast,
Leave me here forever, I think it best
