She Enjoys Long Walks On The Beach And..... Poem by Ted Sheridan

She Enjoys Long Walks On The Beach And.....

Rating: 4.8

There are things in life that everybody wants….
She believes that in order to find the perfect shell
one has to comb a lot of beaches; walking for miles
barefoot in the foamy wash, with the sun by your side
and the past behind you for better or worse. She believes
perfection exists as with sand and water, sun and sky;
certain things like us are meant to grow old together,
once having discovered one another. For it is
in those moments, when the sun and sky close their eyes.
that the moon will ebb the tide and the water will depart
from the sandy shore leaving behind for our discovery
that perfect shell. The one everybody wants…..

The thems of your recent poems are reflective (well... moreso than usual) . I reckon that theme is the stronget aspect of your work and your language usage is very romantic. Ths is an outstanding piece Ted. The second line is stunning and I can understand what Ally is getting at. A great poem that flows as well as all your peces, thus making for a thoughtful read.

Yes indeed. The idea of 'fading away' is certainly not an exciting end for us drama queens is it? Your poem reminds me of the final frozen frame in Peter Weir's film 'Gallipoli' when the young hero runs 'like the wind' into a sea of bullets. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

For some reason this one makes me want to cry. The search for perfection, shared on a beach with one dearly loved... Yes, I'd like to see that. 'For it is in those moments, when the sun and sky close their eyes' is particularly lovely. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
