Shattered Poem by Summer Sandercox

Shattered

Rating: 5.0

Echoing through my heart I hear your screams
As you stand your ground, trying to face your dreams
And I wonder do my tears melt holes in your skin?
Does my self destruction tell you where I've been?
No, you turn away from me and my sorrowful tears
My begging pleas fall upon deaf ears
Your angry words turn to mocking all my fears
Hate uses your eyes for its cracked mirror
You step away, your face void of any signs
I slowly fall to the ground in a soft decline
You leave guilt free and just leave me there
The scent of you and hateful words still in the air
So these are the remnants of our final hour
You've gone to savor your victory and revel in your power
Here I remain begging for no more
My broken heart shattered on the floor.
