I’ve given you my heart
I know it will not break
I know I put it out there
For only you to take

I know that my heart
Will be safe with you
I it knew from the start
It was the right thing to do

I put my heart in your hands
Hands so soft and strong
I felt safe and secure
I knew I could not be wrong

In return you gave to me
Your heart to have and hold
I promised to you that I
Would protect it like it were gold

I said, I won’t abuse or use it
I’ll hold it safe and tight
It will always stay with me
Morning, noon and night

I gave to you my heart
Not knowing what to do
I gave to you a heart
That will forever love you
