Shards Poem by Mamta Vincent

Shards

You dropped it with no caution
As if it was burning through your skin
She now walks around with shards
The pain is hidden beneath her smile
Sanity is a thing of the past
Your memory lingers around every corner
She runs in hope of finding a way
Her turmoil mind looks around for comfort
Haunted by the memories of her love
Wounded by the scars left behind
The voices in her head won't stop
But the damage is irreversible
You dropped her heart with no caution
And now she walks around with shards of her broken heart
