Shadows Poem by Dyllan Martin

Shadows

Expressionless eyes stare,
Look into mine as I lay upon my bed,
He's only an innocent doll they say,
But I know better,
I see right through that make-up,
Smared across his face,
He's the devil in disguise,
The wolf in a sheepskin coat.

I've never liked that doll,
Lifeless and cold,
He sits there,
Waiting,
Watching,
For what,
I'll never know,

Calling my name,
As his words echo inside my head,
Curiosity draws me closer,
Closer,
Towards him as he smiles,
Heart racing,
Filling me with anxitiy,
Then,
Stopped,
Frozen with fear,
As my hands quake,
The invisable force pushed me back,
Scrambling across the floor,
Trying to gain my balance,
I wanted to scream,
But the fear grabbed at my throat,
That's when it all turned,
Black,
Head in hands,
But the moment I'm turned,
He's gone.
