Shadows Poem by Brent McCracken

I dream of you as I sleep, trying to hold you, but the feeling is not right, a dark shadow between us, keeping us apart, I try to call you, my insides screaming, but can't make a sound, longing for your touch, needing you to hold me, light growing dimmer, shadows growing thicker, I desire your kiss, your head on my chest, trying so hard to be next to you, each frightining moment we apear farther apart, one final lunge, one finaly attempt to reach you, here for a moment, but the moment is gone, gone forever, in an insant you are no where, but yet, you are everywhere.
