shadow here, shadow there
shadow filled with lost hopes broken dreams and despair

I look around and all i see are footsteps way to big for me
so dark it is in here...so lonely
BANISHED to the shadow for all eternity

all humanity...all sanity
long lost and forgotten
by expectations so high my brain has rotten

there is no escaping the shadow
no choice.
no matter how hard i try i can always hear their voice

be smarter
work harder
WORK HARDER!
be more like her..

i try to be all that i can be but thats never enough
CRASH! BURN! FAIL! miserably

why even bother?
I am and shall always be
but a lost sailor..floating downstream in the river of failure

if only.. if only..
if only they knew..
how much pain and torture they put me through.
comparing everything i do
Every move I make
to her...
so lovely..
so fake

a wicked test
but i can't, WON'T
i will never settle for second best.
