I Am Robot Poem by Brooke Boulanger

I Am Robot

I am robot,
built and brought to life
emotionless
bolts and nuts where my heart should be
I can't feel anything
completly empty
I can't feel anger
I can't feel pain
I can't feel teardrops
or the blood in my veins
Everything I do
Every move i make
Perfectly programmed
I MAKE NO MISTAKE
I don't have a say in anything
I don't have a CHOICE
Nothing for me to be deciding
I can't raise my voice
they control it
as they do my thoughts

In every way I am perfect..Flawless
but what the hell did I do to deserve this?

Ah, Brooke: What did you do to deserve people who love you? You were born, a wonderful reason enough. Remember that, and in about four years you’ll be able to say, ”Thank You! ” This is a dear little poem that expresses the turmoil that all young girls go through on their way to adulthood. As painful as the transition may be it is worth the journey, as long as one treads carefully around those snags along the way. Adeline (Tongue in cheek, may I point out that you did, indeed, make a mistake. In the forth line I think you meant to say ‘where’ instead of ‘were’.)
