Sego Palm—aging Poem by Walterrean Salley

Sego Palm—aging

Rating: 5.0

Sego Palm—Aging

The sego’s getting much older;
Her hairs are turning rather gray.
But still she stands so beautiful;
Uniquely royal is her way.

Her stately palms continue still
To form her fair signature crown.
Her trunk shoots quite upwardly.
Her healthy roots, they go way down.

She faithfully reproduces
Her tender little sego pods,
Which are gathered around her skirt,
And firmly nestled in the sod.

Her luster soothes like a balm;
So beautiful is the sego palm.
