Searching Poem by Paula Glynn

Searching

I think we are all searching for a sense of pride,
We want to do things right,
At least I know I do,
I need the words to flow,
Because what I need to show,
Has been written deep inside my heart,
I have written letters,
And read them for the meaning I have given them,
I need to find my way in this life,
A long journey that it is,
Where I face treachery and anger,
Sometimes violence,
But I don't let that distort or cloud my judgement,
I just reach out into my soul,
To steer this life on track and be in control,
I don't need to take from anyone:
All I have is this deeper love in my heart,
Where fire and passion burns,
And happiness makes a start,
Because these words are precious to me,
I need to let those words free,
And show what I suppose everyone knows:
Just be yourself and watch your life glow,
Like a lucky star at midnight,
Where trains whiz past in their fever,
Carrying people seemingly cold,
Yet hiding passion they dare not show.
