Sea Without Shores Poem by jim hogg

Sea Without Shores

It's a sea without shores
And it weaves like a river
No-one knows where it goes
It's been flowing forever

It's the fast lane to nowhere
The love of your dreams
Your worst ever nightmare
Not quite as it seems

And the devils will rescue
And the angels condemn.
And it's me and it's you
And it's us or it's them

It's as deep as your soul
It's as wide as your mind
It's as bright as your hope
It's as dark as the night

And there's tenderness flowing
From hearts that are broken
From the dagger that's thrown
When fond words are spoken

And it's one against all
And it's all against one
And it's all that we've lost
And it's all that we've won

It's the highest of mountains
It's the wave that is breaking
It's the driest of fountains
it's hell in the making

And we're all of us strangers
The light of all knowing
The child in the manger
All mystery flowing

We're the bud that is blooming
The train that's just leaving
The promise that's looming
The heart that's deceiving

And you and I live here
As holy as sorrow
In a blasphemous dream
In this dance with tomorrow

Where there's steps without end
Down the razor's edge trail
Round the burning bush bend
To the tower of veils

And it's christmas on earth
There are signs everywhere
There are stars giving birth
In the ocean of flames

Call me sentimental but this is one of my favorites. Got the rhyme down flawlessly
