Scratches Poem by Mandy Author2

Scratches

The scratches on my hand,
Don’t reach the walls of my heart,
Would explain,
But don’t know where to start,
If you had been past the walls,
You would know,
My trust is rare,
My admittance rarer,
If I don’t let you in,
You can’t hurt me,
Is what I tell myself,
To protect me,
From you,
Even though you mean no harm,
You can cause destruction,
With a single glance,
One unkind word,
Will have the walls,
Ready to defend,
My heart
