Schrödinger's Comet Poem by Galina Italyanskaya

Schrödinger's Comet

Rating: 5.0

Have I finally burnt to death in his glare
Am I still alive to sink in the night
Come from nothing to touch him
And gone nowhere
Out of mind as soon
As out of sight

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Schrödinger's comet is another name for ISON (comet C/2012 S1) visiting our system a year ago.
This poem was written when its fate after perihelion passage was still undefined.

I had to look up PERIHELION in the dictionary - a comet's closest approach to the sun. Am I right to conclude its undefined fate might have been burning up because too close to the sun? I just went back to the poem and I can se now it is the comet speaking about its near escape from destruction, but its near approach to the sun left no impression on the behemoth of the solar system. It's too small to impact that huge mass and energy.
