Scared To Death Poem by shirley hedrick

Scared To Death

I headed off into the night, not knowing where I was going
It was dark cold and windy and the rain was pouring down
I was scared to death but I kept on going
I heard this alful cracking noise
I stopped to listen for awhile
wondering what that noise was and where it was coming from
My heart was pounding my hands were shaking
my knees were weak and I fell to the ground
I closed my eyes and put my hands together
and I starting praying
not knowing what that could be I knew someone
was following me then I heard this voice
speaking to me get up my child don't be scared
I watch over you day and night no harm will come to you
I open my eyes and I looked up and there he was
standing over me Oh how happy I was when I seen Jesus
