Say Goodbye

It’s never too late to say
Goodbye to tomorrow
Nor is it too early to welcome
A new day
Our eyes may choose to betray us
When we bade goodbye;
We cry when we do not mean to
Sometimes we’re too weak
To turndown their embrace
Or dust off their touch
Memories have a funny way
Of playing on our weakness
Alas, we are the ones it the memories
We cannot say goodbye to!

Poem of the Day

poet Robert William Service

Just Home and Love! the words are small
Four little letters unto each;
And yet you will not find in all
The wide and gracious range of speech
Two more so tenderly complete:
