Savvy Times

On having to read a book twice to be savvy.

How way it end,
read again,
end just the same,
only you more savvy 2 time.

Savvier the 3rd.

By 11,
you subtly more savvy
than you was by 7.

You think there be no more grow'n to do,
and what it'd take to write one
worth readin' 12 and teens,
leave alone 20,21,22.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
it's Marlon James' A Brief History Of Seven Killings. More like 'several' than 'seven'. Even more like 'many'.
