Saving Few Poem by Anonymous Seeker

Saving Few

For time passed quickly,
as he walked home alone
another week is through,
another day is gone

reaching his block,
he stops in fright
as he looks at his house
flaming against the night

Sirens wail louder,
as they come near,
screaming past his stilled body
so stiffened with fear

for everything is gone,
everything he knew
burning to an ash,
saving little, saving few
