Save My Soul Poem by Claudia Nkhata

Save My Soul

Take care of me for I am only human
They say I have done so many bad things that I don't deserve a second chance
They say everyone I wronged will forever haunt my soul
They say no man can do what I have done because it is unimaginable
Beyond man's reach of sin
They spit behind me
There goes the sinner they say!
They point fingers in my direction
When I approach they sometime disperse
They curse my name in banters
They say they are so sanctified that they cannot come to contact with my body
Nowadays they don't even talk to me
When I try to find out they look the other way
Then I ask myself…
Why did God throw us unto the earth if he knew there was sin?
Couldn't he have sent us to a better place?
Why is there even sin if God came for the righteous?
Not that I want to sin to say the least
But because I am just not perfect for I am only human
Then I realize that it is for the purpose that I do wrong so I learn how to make it right
Take care of me for I am only human
God bless my soul!
