Savannah Dreams Poem by Mike Conkey

Savannah Dreams

Moving
slowly
through space and time
gravity
pulling me down
stars all around
the blues
and other hughes
are seperating
the things im wanting to say
but after today
the world wont be the same
the grass on the ground in savannah
isnt like the grass here
its greener
softer
to rest my head on
distracting myself
of the place i want to be
all the stress here i see
but when i think of there
i stand still and stare
if only i was there
the sun twice as bright
blinded by its light
the people there
arnt like the people here
no drama can be felt
with any person your dealt
i need to go back
