Sarah Waits For Big Tomatoe Poem by Sue Chevalier

Sarah Waits For Big Tomatoe

When Sarah was about the age of five
She thought tornados came alive.
Alive into a Big Tomato with legs
walking up the hill to where she lived.
Sarah waited anxiously outside her front door
She was afraid but wanted to see more.
She imagined a Big Gigantic Tomato coming up her street
She thought it would be cool and thought it be neat to see.
Wind starting blowing and the blue sky became still
the birds disappeared, Sarah began to feel chills.
Sarah imagined Big Tomatoes footsteps
going Boom, Boom, Boom
Sarah and Melodie hid in the family room.
Sleeping in family room was fun for Sarah and Melodie
both were together with Granny Krendoll as a family.
Now Big Tomato never did come
but Sarah has fond memories of a night of fun.
