Sands Of Time Poem by Jordan Black

Sands Of Time

Good to know where to find it how to drill and well it from there,
Good to know some animals can smell it a mile off in the air,
We never much appreciate it or look after it like we should,
If we never had restrictions we'd only use it all we would,
To feed unnecessary livestock or to mine unnecessary ore,
We wouldn't have a clue what to do without it only stand in awe,
This natural resource is most precious and only on our earth,
It gives us long life and predetermines our birth,
Though the polar ice caps are melting an it fills our sea,
This salty toxic resource cannot work for you or me,
This gift of life in the desert is what will keep us in our house,
It's only a matter of time before we're all with dry mouth.
